THE DAILY BLADE: Never Mind Marxism. Will An Obama Administration Be Totalitarian?
The Columbus Dispatch reports that OH officials are looking into whether state and law-enforcement computer systems were illegally accessed to dig out personal information about Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (AKA “Joe the Plumber”), some of which may have been used by the MSM to damage the credibility of this private citizen who dared challenge Sen. Barack Obama on his tax policies:
Public records requested by The Dispatch disclose that information on Wurzelbacher's driver's license or his sport-utility vehicle was pulled from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles database three times shortly after the debate.
Information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.
It has not been determined who checked on Wurzelbacher, or why. Direct access to driver's license and vehicle registration information from BMV computers is restricted to legitimate law enforcement and government business.
This incident is especially disturbing, because the Obama campaign has already used law enforcement to silence critics. You’ll recall that MO “truth squad” comprised of St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, prompting a protest from MO Gov. Matt Blunt (R). And an attorney for the Obama campaign tried to get the Election Crimes Branch in the Department of Justice to investigate and prosecute the non-profit American Issues Project for an ad that exposed Obama's relationship with one-time domestic terrorist William Ayers (the DOJ declined, on the grounds that no laws were broken).
In addition, Obama routinely ducks tough questions from journalists – well, the few he gets (second item) – and this campaign has now begun boycotting individuals and entire news organizations that displease him.
Last week, WFTV (Channel 9, Orlando) reporter Barbara West conducted a satellite interview with Sen. Joe Biden, during which she asked the veep candidate to differentiate between Obama’s “spreading the wealth” federal tax policy from Karl Marx’s communist utopia where the state would take from each according to his ability and give to each according to his need. Biden’s response: “Is that a joke? Or is that a real question?”

Thanks to West’s tough line of questioning, the Obama campaign will not allow its surrogates to be interviewed by any reporter at the station for the duration of the campaign. WFTV news director Bob Jordan defends West’s making “the most of” the five minutes she was given for her interview, adding: “We choose not to ask softball questions.”
Similarly, PBS talk show host Tavis Smiley tells MarketWatch media critic Jon Friedman that he doesn't expect Obama to agree to an interview with him (“The odds are slim to none - and slim is out of town”) because he has tried to be objective in his political coverage. In addition to being snubbed by the Obama campaign, Smiley has also endured charges from his viewers that he is a “hater, a traitor and a sellout” who is “jealous” of Obama.
Which brings us to the specter of mob rule, should Obama get elected. Obamaniacs have made death threats to prominent Hillary Clinton supporters during the primaries; some voters allege that caucus-goers were intimidated by busloads of out-of-town Obama volunteers and left without caucusing with their neighbors (second item); and McCain supporters and volunteers have been physically and verbally attacked by Obama supporters, and some have had their homes and cars vandalized.
Editorial Note: If the culprit(s) who improperly accessed Wurzelbacher’s personal data are found criminal charges could result, as in the case of David Kernell, who allegedly hacked vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's E-mail account, and faces up to five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and threen years probation.

You’ll recall that Peter Singer is prominent in a global movement seeking to extend human rights to chimpanzees and gorillas (last item), but not to homo sapien neonates because he doesn’t regard them as human. Singer advocates killing babies in and out of the womb – particularly if they have Down syndrome or are "defective' in any way.
Considering that Obama believes that survivors of botched abortions (second item) should be allowed to die without medical treatment, he and Singer do see eye-to-eye on some issues so it’s possible that the abortion extremist will forgive the medical “ethicist” this bit of hyperbole on the importance of CA’s Proposition 2.
