Carley Torres and her husband Laramie Torres of Medford, OR, sent their kids door-to-door in neighboring Medford, Ashland and Eagle Point last year to appeal for donations so the eldest child could attend volleyball camp, reports The Associated Press. The money raised was used at the mall, the movies and to attend monster truck rallies. Carley Torres was sentenced to up to 90 days in jail and must pay restitution in the amount of $3,000. Her husband will perform community service.
